| Flat Tobin went to Germany (in Germany, they call it Deutschland) this week to help Tobin's uncle, Ray, with some work there. It was a very boring trip -- all night on an airplane where Flat Tobin couldn't sleep because the person in the seat behind him kept kicking his seat. But, in the end, going to another country is always an adventure.
We arrived at the Frankfurt airport and discovered that the travel people back home hadn't reserved a rental car for us. You want to rent a good car in Germany because THERE ARE NO SPEED LIMITS! Alas, we ended up with this little Opel. It tops out at about 175 km/hr (110+/- mph) -- we know because we tested.
The most exciting thing that happened at the airport (aside from the rental fiasco) was the bomb scare. Everybody had to leave the airport and we all stood outside for a while, talking and telling jokes. There were people from everywhere, come to visit Germany. It's a new world! |
